KAICIID Director General meets with Pope Francis at a commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Nostra Aetate Declaration

At a commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Nostra Aetate declaration, His Holiness Pope Francis stressed in an audience at the Vatican the importance of interreligious dialogue.
During the audience with His Holiness, KAICIID Director General Fahad Abualnasr expressed his gratitude to the Pope for supporting KAICIID and its efforts to promote interreligious dialogue as a means to peace and conflict resolution.  The papal audience took place during a three-day gathering, sponsored by the Vatican and the Pontifical Gregorian University, to commemorate the 1965 Nostra Aetate (“In Our Time” in Latin) declaration: a landmark document that transformed the relations between the Catholic Church and other religions, in particular Judaism and Islam.

Islam Rising | Francis not the First Pope to Submit to Islam

Pope John Paul II kisses the Quran
The end of the world as we know it seems to have been on the mind of Pope Francis a lot lately. On November 27, while speaking at Casa Santa Marta, the pope spoke about the two cities of Babylon and Jerusalem.  Jerusalem's fate, he took from Luke 21 and Babylon's he took from Revelation 17. It is interesting that he would speak about Babylon since many people believe that the harlot is the Roman Catholic Church.

Islam Rising | National Cathedral Yoked with Unbelievers

Today the United Arab Emirates issued a new list of organizations that it considers to be terrorist organization. The list is very controversial because there are many organizations on the list that are not considered terrorist organizations by their host countries. Some of these countries' foreign offices and departments of state are making inquiries of the emirates as to why they have branded these organizations as terrorists. Although the fact is that they already know. These groups are all affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood.

Global Babylon | Prince El Hassan bin Talal set to Visit Vatican

Back in September, Jordan’s Prince El Hassan bin Talal was at the Vatican on the same day as Shimon Peres, the former president of Israel. President Peres was there to pitch his idea of a United Religions. This would operate like the United Nations but would be a gathering of religions instead of states. El Hassan bin Talal was the Pope's next appointment. The topic probably did not change much and was most likely centered around interfaith.

Uniting Religions | Prophet of Peace? or The Man of Sin?

The pope had a meeting today with the former president of Israel, Shimone Peres. Mr. Peres wanted to promote his idea for a "UN for religions" to Pope Francis whom he described as "the only world figure respected enough to bring an end to the wars raging in the Middle East and elsewhere in the world".
