European Union sets up international centre in Abu Dhabi

An international centre set up by the European Union in Abu Dhabi will help ensure the Gulf’s readiness to tackle chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) incidents.

The EU CBRN Centres of Excellence regional secretariat will include cross-border cooperation between Gulf countries to establish an incident response strategy.

Reviving the Roman Empire | The European Neighbourhood Instrument (ENI)

The new European Neighbourhood Instrument (ENI) has come into force with a budget of €15.4 billion for the period 2014-2020, after it was published in the Official Journal on 15 March, together with five other external action funding instruments.

According to the European Commission, the ЕNI replaces the ENPI (the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument) in supporting the implementation of the political initiatives that have shaped the European Neighbourhood Policy – the Eastern Partnership between the EU and its eastern neighbours, and the Partnership for Democracy and Shared Prosperity and the Union for the Mediterranean in the EU’s southern neighbourhood.
