On February 17-18 the Austrian capital of Vienna will hold a joint conference of the Council of Europe and the OSCE on combating human trafficking, according to the OSCE official website.
The conference will focus on the problems arising during the implementation of the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings and the OSCE Action Plan to Combat Trafficking in Human Beings.
The events will examine ways of expanding cooperation between international organizations, civil society and governments in the fight against modern slavery.
The conference will hear the speeches of the Council of Europe Secretary General Thorbjorn Jagland, OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier, OSCE Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings Maria Grazia Giammarinaro, Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Nils Muiznieks and others.
