Evidently the Bahraini government has good evidence that Hezbollah is trying to stir up the Bahraini Shiites against the ruling Sunnis. The Middle Eastern struggle between Sunni and Shiites is a complex blend of intrigue and proxy warfare. It seems that Iran, Bashar al-Assad's Syrian government and Lebanon's Hezbollah, are the main Shiite belligerents. Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar and other GCC countries are the main Sunni belligerents. (The Sunnis are receiving increasing backing from the European Union and the United States.)
