Better Than Cash | The UN backed Alliance to Regulate Buying and Selling

There is a group of powerful and influential public and private groups that want to move the world to a cashless economy.  This group has formed the “Better Than Cash Alliance.”  The members of the group include the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, CITI, the United Nations Capital Development funds and other well-known entities.  They desire to eliminate the use of cash for all financial transactions and instead have all buying and selling done electronically.  In the group’s propaganda, they claim that this will lead to financial inclusion for the world’s poor.  But the truth was pointed out in a zerohedge.com article in which they state;

Although they won’t admit it, the 12 central governments that currently support the BTCA (the U.S. is one of them) do so because a cashless society would enable them to track and tax every purchase made with sovereign currency within their borders. In addition to producing new government revenue streams, the payment systems would increase governments’ social engineering capabilities: They would compel consumers to purchase goods and services from tax-paying, licensed organizations.

To those of you who know the Bible, this sounds very much like the economy that the beast of Revelation 13:16-17 will set up in which no man may buy or sell without the mark of the beast.

The Indian government has recently joined the Better Than Cash Alliance.

India teams up with UN-backed alliance to accelerate financial inclusion for all

The Government of India has taken a step closer to becoming a cashless economy by joining the Better Than Cash Alliance, a United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) initiative that helps enable countries transition to electronic payments.

“India’s leadership and progress are inspirational for countries around the world,” said Dr. Ruth Goodwin-Groen, Managing Director of the Better Than Cash Alliance. “By making the digitization of payments to achieve financial inclusion a top priority, the Indian Government is showing its commitment to improving the lives of its people and driving inclusive growth.”

The Alliance is a partnership of governments, companies, and international organizations that accelerates the switch from cash to digital payments to reduce poverty and drive inclusive growth. It aims to help people who lack access to formal financial services such as bank accounts, and who often subsist almost entirely in an informal, cash-only economy.

Other recently joined members of the Alliance include Rwanda and Ghana.

The Indian Government’s new relationship with the Alliance complements its own financial inclusion programme, Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), which, according to Finance Minister Arun Jaietley, has been instrumental in bringing many families into the formal financial system.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join other world leaders at the UN summit later this month to launch the Sustainable Development Goals. Financing for development, which includes digital financial services, is a key means of implementation for the Goals. Advocates hope India’s membership of the Better Than Cash Alliance will inspire other governments to harness the power of digital payments as a strategy for achieving the Goals.

About The Better Than Cash Alliance

Electronic payments are becoming increasingly common as markets seek efficiencies through new technologies. However, the shift from cash to electronic — particularly in a way that expands the benefits of financial inclusion and savings for the poor — is a complex process requiring leadership, resources and technical expertise.

In addition to raising awareness of the benefits of replacing physical cash with electronic payments, the Better Than Cash Alliance facilitates the transition for governments, the development community and the private sector by:

1.       Advocating for organizations to commit to transition their distribution of government benefits, humanitarian aid assistance, payroll, and supplier payments from cash to electronic.

2.       Providing policy, technical and financial assistance to identify and implement the most effective approach for local market conditions that maximize the benefits at each stage of the transition.

3.       Developing cutting-edge research products, best practices and case studies in order to drive the effective shift from cash to electronic payments globally.

Empower People by Accelerating the Shift to Electronic Payments

Governments, the development community and the private sector make billions of dollars in cash payments to the poor, including disbursements of salaries, payments to suppliers, pensions, social welfare stipends, cash-for-work programs, emergency relief payments, and others. While cash is preferable to the distribution of food and other in-kind goods, these programs present a missed opportunity to expand financial inclusion and help people in poverty grow assets.

Accelerating the shift from cash to electronic payments can improve the livelihoods of low-income people by advancing financial inclusion, enabling people to build savings and accelerating the growth of emerging economies. By 2017, the Better Than Cash Alliance aims to achieve:

Significant commitments by governments, the development community, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector to implement electronic payment solutions instead of cash.
Delivery of demand-driven technical assistance to governments, non-governmental organizations, the development community, or members of the private sector that will dramatically increase the capacity of these stakeholders to deliver end-user-focused payment technologies.

Improved economic security for millions of low-income and poor people, many of whom were previously unbanked, enabling them to use bank or electronic accounts to build savings and assets via innovative payment technologies.

Delivery of knowledge products that demonstrate how to implement electronic-payment solutions so that electronic payments are profitable and sustainable while ensuring the financial inclusion and savings opportunities for those living in poverty.
