United Religions to Bring back Babylon | Berlin plans one home for three religions

Called the House of One, the building would become the first in the world built together by the three religious to pray in. It will house a church, synagogue and a mosque.
DTTO-  The history of The Tower of Babel (Hebrewמִגְדַּל בָּבֶל‎, Migdal Bavel Arabicبُرْجُ بَابِلَ‎ Burju Bābil) forms the focus of a story told in the Book of Genesis of the Bible. According to scriptures, a united humanity of the generations following the Great Flood, speaking a single language and migrating from the east, came to the land of Shinar (Hebrew:שנער‎). As the King James version of the Bible puts it:
4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
6 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.
—Genesis 11:4–9

The fundraising campaign was launched in Berlin on Tuesday with the symbolic handover of the first brick. Financed by sponsors, anyone can donate money online, with one brick costing €10.
The idea for the House of One came about in 2009 following archaeological excavations on the south side of the Museum Island.
Remnants of the city's medieval centre were found and the religious leaders decided to build on the foundations to symbolize the religions longest associated with Berlin
DTTO- In Babylonian religion, the ritual care and worship of the statues of deities was considered sacred; the gods resided simultaneously in their statues in temples and in the natural forces they embodied. An elaborate ceremony of washing the mouths of the statues appeared sometime in the Old Babylonian period. The pillaging or destruction of idols was considered to be a withdrawal of divine patronage; during the Neo-Babylonian period, the Chaldean prince Marduk-apla-iddina IIfled into the southern marshes of Mesopotamia with the statues of Babylon's gods to save them from the armies of Sennacherib of Assyria

“We quickly agreed that something visionary and forward-looking should be built on a historic place such as Petriplatz, the founding site of Berlin,” said vicar Gregor Hohberg who initiated the project.

“The basic idea behind House of One is to bring people together who know little about each other. Ignorance is often the basis of rejection,” Rabbi Tovia Ben-Chorin added.
Imam Kadir Sanci, who together with the other two men is on the board of the project, said: “The aim of our construction is to consciously promote non-violent and open dialogue between different religions and cultures. Everyone is welcome and invited to discover previously unknown aspects of other religions.”
Construction will start when the first €10 million has been raised. Source
